NOT FOR LONG

As you can tell by the photo they took my nasal canula out , but NOT FOR LONG because my oxygen levels keep falling without it. They will continue to leave it on for now, but wlll keep tying to remove.
NOT FOR LONG and Mom and Dad will be holding me all day, but for now Mom's gentle touch is very comforting. NOT FOR LONG and I will be heading out to 7 West on the floor, possibly as early as today. NOT FOR LONG the doctor said if I don't eat 45ml every 3 hours, then I will be getting a NG tube. I do have fluid in the right side of my lungs, they will keep watching it and if it doesn't clear up, they will go in and suck it out with a needle. Still progressing well, just a couple of minor setbacks is what the doctor said. So NOT FOR LONG before I will be coming home and seeing everyone. Mom and Dad will let everyone know when as soon as they know.

P.S. I do have a new neighbor down the hall named Fisher Herzog born April 22 with the same thing I have Transposition of the Great Arteries and some other complications. His Dad was able to come down with him, but his Mom wasn't allowed to come yet because of a couple of problems she had during delivery. Hopefully she will make it down by tonight. His dad is a Senior in college and needs to do some papers online so he will be able to graduate. He is also Diabetic, and needs to get some medication orders transferred here, so my Dad is going to help him out today. But most importantly they want you all to pray for him, because his surgery is Friday morning and because of his other problems, he will be in OR for ~10-12 hours Dr. Gandhi said, so please pray for him as my family will be doing all day Friday.

It sounds like Kaden is doing good! I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa are showering him and Cydne with lots of hugs, kisses, and attention. Hang in there Kurt and Jennifer! You are on our minds all day. I hope Madox works up a big appetite today. The Carters are heading to the Windy City later today, but we hope to check in later for updates. We will add Fisher to our prayers. I'm sure it is hard for his Mommy not to be there with him. If Kurt is helping Fisher's Daddy with his paper, he is in good hands. Kurt has helped a few of us with school work before and he does a good job! XOXO Barbie

Good morning...oh what a blessing you are. Even with your "set backs" you know what you need to do and your determined nature will see you through. And now you and your Mom & Dad have an opportunity to be caregivers/witnesses to your new friend. Dad's wisdom can be shared and your Mom's comforting ways will be a blessing to the new family. You have been sent there to walk this path first - to set the way - for the next child. Thank you for being so brave and such a great example. We send our love, support, prayers and encouragement to all of you.
Peace,
All His Children

Looking good Madox! Have the doctors given you a time frame when you might be able to go home? Are you getting any antibiotics? Keep chugging those bottles and getting stronger! You da baby! It makes my day better when I can get on your blog and see that you're getting better and at all these people still praying and thinking about you! Tell Mom and Pop "hi" for me. Ask them if you can have a visitor from Jackson maybe next week if you're up to it. Hope to hear more good news later today!

Lots of love,

Madox,
Those eyes are wise beyond their years, and could fill a book for all to read. I'm hoping as lunch time approaches for us, with every bite, everyone knowing your plight will be praying for you.

I have heard from several of my co-workers, friends, and neighbors that they have you in their prayers, and love what your dad has done with your blog.

Here's to Madox and Fisher, hoping they are given the strength to make it through these next couple of weeks. Here's to 3-year old Tate, who I hope has reached the end of his long line of surgeries, or is close to seeing his last one for many years.

Mighty Madox!

You are looking great. Try very hard to eat a little more...ask Grandpa Patridge for a few of his snacks. I talked to Grandma P. a few minutes ago & she is busy with Cydne & Kaden but looking forward to her & Grandpa's next visit. Later little man!

Aunt Connie & Uncle Mike

ps: We are all praying for Fisher and his family.

Baby Madox, you have such bright eyes full of strength and determination so you keep up the good work and gobble up all that milk. Besides your a Ratliff man, and Ratliff men know how to eat! You're on the right track and mom and dad and sis and bubby and all the rest of us family and friends are here to cheer you on and lift you up in prayer. And you better believe there's always enough prayers and cheering for friends like Fisher and his family too.

Proverbs 15:30 A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.

We love you - Jason, Holly, Tyler and Tad Ratliff

Madox, I know you are capable of keeping those oxygen levels up. Just have to keep trying!! Also, it sounds like you have a neighbor that needs your strength and encouragement. Make sure that you keep letting him know what it takes to make it thru the surgery. Like Aunt Lori said, we would love to see you keep those levels up and those wires out! Keep up the fight. You just have a few more rounds of this fight to go before you are finally out of Children's and crowned champian of the "Transposition of the Great Arteries". I know your sister and brother can't wait to have you home. Also, let Fisher's dad know how lucky he is to have your dad there to help him out. I know that I could have used his help when I was in college. I can't wait for the next update. Well, I've got to get back to work. Talk to you soon.

Love
Uncle Matt
