On The Move

Here I am all nice and comfy in my bassinet on wheels to go to 7 West, which is a step down unit from the ICU. Sorry about taking so long to give an update, but the morning was spent trying to eat and getting an ultrasound of my chest. I had some fluid in my right lung and they had to put a drainage tube to allow it to drain. Then to make sure everything was placed properly I needed a chest X-ray. In the middle of all of this Mom had to pump and they took out my Art. Line, which bled like crazy, it took 40 minutes for it to clot off. Minor drama for Mom and Dad and very exhausting for me.
I finally made it into my room, luckily no NG tube yet. As long as I keep eating 45ml every 3 hours, I won't get one. I am still on a little oxygen, but they think once my lungs get dry I should be able to get off that. Above, Mom gets to hold me again, my heart is still beating in rhythym. Right now I just need to eat, for now out of a bottle, but soon from Mom. Get my strength up and my stitches out and I could be heading home by the beginning of next week.

Madox,
That's great news, and I'm sure the nurses in the CICU are sad yet happy to see you go. Hopefully they can now put their attention on Fisher and get him headed in the right direction. Glad to see the noodle is making the trip over to 7 West with you, see you soon.

Madox,

You do keep amazing us with your strength and the ability to keep us all on our toes! I am so happy to hear you are out of CICU! You are definitely headed in the right direction. You just need to quit scaring your parents. Don't you think you've put them through enough?? I know that's nothing compared to what you and Kaden will put them through later in life! :) Keep it up! Now, your bud, Fisher, will get all the attention from the CICU nurses. I love you!

Hugs and kisses,

Aunt Lori

Hi Madox!
I went to pharmacy school with your mommy & daddy (eons ago) and just wanted to say hello & give my best to you & baby Fisher. Your Aunt Jennifer sent me your blog & I have been checking in on you to see your great progress. First off, you are super adorable! Secondly, I am so happy you are moving out of the "jackhammer unit" and into a better room. Lots of people are thinking about you here in Colorado & are asking how you are doing. Keep up the great work-and give your mommy & daddy my best wishes.

Hey Madox! I am so happy to hear that you have made the "move" to 7 West. I knew you would do it soon because you have proven to be one strong little man throughout this whole thing! I would also like to comment on those AWESOME listening ears. You do just what those doctors and nurses tell you to do. Now make sure you keep that up for your teachers some day. I LOVE having students like you :) Well, you are in our thoughts and prayers and so is baby Fisher. We'll check in later on tonight.
