Good Morning to Everyone

Dad has told me that there are several people waiting anxiously for more updates. Nothing out of the ordinary or to get too concerned about. My Blood Pressure is still a little lower than they would like and my outputs are a little low, which means I am not producing very much urine. The Dopamine drip is still running and they started me on a Lasix drip and have given me Albumin. The problem is the Lasix will decrease my blood pressure but helps increase my urine ouput. So its a delicate balancing act to keep things in order. I came out of surgery looking very pale and white, but today I am getting a little bit of color back. Hopefully things keep going as planned and the doctors are watching me like hawks.

Love the drug info--so glad you guys are pharmacists, too!!! He's going to be just great! A year from now he'll be walking around giving YOU guys heart trouble as he narrowly escapes head injuries from the coffee table or tries to put dog poo in his mouth that he finds in the yard!!! I'll keep checking back!

xoxo Bergman :-)

Good Morning little guy..
Just thing about a dripping water facet today as you rest today(pee away buddy). I can't wait to see you tomorrow.

ps. Grandma and Grandpa Patridge have been out there the whole time praying for you, while helping your parents through this hard time. They can't wait till you get home and Kaden teaches you all of his tricks, while Cydne tries to help contain you two. They also wanted me to let you know that they love you very much are continuing to pray for you They are very thankful of your stongwill yesterday.

Hello little Madox,
I am glad to hear things went as expected yesterday. When I heard of your arrival and your surgery on Monday, my eyes were on the clock, my mind on the complicated nature of your surgery and my heart in the waiting room with your parents during that time. Your parents gave you a tough name. The name Madox speaks strongly of resilience. Some day soon you will be bigger and stronger and you and your brother will be beating the crud out of eachother (my experience says that is what brothers like to do) and no one will ever believe what you have been through. Tell Cydne no to worry adding another male to the household. Delaney says there are a lot of advantages to being Daddy's little girl! Love to all.

There are times we have to find humor in situations...As I read your latest info, Madox, I giggled that in our business we try to help children learn to control their urine output - but we want you to let it go, baby! Just finding humor in the day. Please know above all, we are holding you all close in our hearts and always in our prayers. Take care and tell your Mom & Dad we send our love.

Hour 24 is fast approaching, and I know Madox will clear this hurdle, just as he has cleared every other. He is truly one of the cutest babies you ever have seen, but there is no doubt he's a fighter, just ask the nurses who change his diapers or rearrange his censors. He has a great pair of lungs, and looks solid.

I have been amazed by this whole procedure.

From the first time I stepped into Children's Hospital, I have been impressed with the security guards, the staff, the nurses (their loving care, and like all of you some were following the blog during the surgery yesterday), the doctors (with their constant monitoring, their ability to explain what is going on, their precise care, and odd names), the surgeon (even if he does dislike twins), other patients family (I was asked by two separate families how Madox was doing just leaving the hospital yesterday), and family and loved ones.

Lisa with her cantaloupe and helping Jennifer through the night before Madox's surgery.

Liz for informing Kurt on what a blog is, and for starting this blog, for spell-checking everything Madox writes who apparently gets his spelling from his dad, and for breaking the ice

Keith who kept Kurt company at the hospital for a couple of nights, allowing Jennifer to get a little rest and keeping Kurt from going insane. Thanks for giving me a call last night to make sure I wasn't falling asleep on my way home.

Jim(dad) and Linda(mom) who have made multiple trips to and from St. Louis and given Cydne and Kaden the expectation of meeting and uncle on the highway every time they travel to or from St. Louis, and making sure Cydne gets to school, and Kaden remains somewhat entertained, a tougher job than some might expect.

Daniel and Robert for offering up Hotel Columbia, which has a very nice master sweet, too bad I was only able to use it about 31/2 hours.

Mary for keeping Kurt and Jennifer in clean clothes, and for running Hotel Columbia, and her unmistakable Earthquake alarm -it goes something like DANNY - DANNY!!!

Dan for being the voice of reason, showing me how to use a combination lock, leading me to the coldest water fountain, and getting enough napkins and utensils every time we went to the cafeteria. And for allowing us to hear phrases such as "Do you ever stop eating?"

Jimmy and Penny for showing all their love and support, I believe they bought Madox his first stuffed animal a nice little dog with a St. Louis Cardinal jersey, and I hear Jimmy's snoring can shake houses.

Ken Gennicks for bringing us to together in prayer, and for bringing us lunch from Greg Donaldson, even if it was in a kidney transplant cooler (not really, but I wonder how many heads turned to see)

Shane Baker for starting us off on the right foot when the family came together.

The other Jennifer for everything she does, for everything she puts up with, and for getting all my laundry done over the weekend.

I know I have missed many others, Lori and Matt, Kim, Mike and Karen, the list goes on.

I also would like to thank the many people who have visited and commented on this blog, trust me Kurt and Jennifer (especially Kurt) was just as anxious to read the comments as you were to receive his updates. Keep 'em coming, and the next two weeks will be a distant memory before you know it.

Hey little guy, Just now got the chance to check on you today, looks like things are going well. Uncle Keith & Aunt Elizabeth made it in about sunset last eve. Garrett was sure glad to see them and was just full of questions about you & how long before you can come over & hang out with him. You keep hangin in there(possibly a little more pee if you can find time in your busy sch.) Tell Dad & Mom to rest all they can, & we will continue to seek Gods healing & very best for you. Marty & Pam

Hey Madox, it's your very pregnant Aunt Jennifer here. I heard you are having a little trouble going potty. I find that a little unfair, seeing how I cannot stop!! I thought I would share a few tips with you that may help. Usually something as simple as a laugh or a sneeze gets it going for me each time. Maybe you could ask you Mommy to tickle your toes or tickle your nose, and let the magic happen. I'll be thinking of you tonight at work. Each time I find myself in the restroom, I'll think extra hard of you. If the doctors would let me, I'd do this job for you, but it is up to you and I think you'll be fine!! I love you and I'll see you soon! Aunt Jennifer

We just found out about your blog last night so we've been updating ourselves on your progress. We are so glad to hear that you are progressing well. We've been thinking of you and your exhausted parents. Sounds like you're a pretty strong little guy so I bet you'll be out of there and home in your comfy bed in no time. Take care!

Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for this day of life. Lord, continue to be with Madox today and give him strength. Lord we pray that things would start working the way they should and faster than anyone expects so everyone will know this could only be of you. I thank you for all of Madox's family who love and care so much for him. Give them renewed strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. Be with Cydne and Kaden and give them great understanding during this confusing time. Bless them. Thank you for Madox, a son, that reminds us of your son, in Jesus name, Amen!
